How can I take advantage of the new Session Logon feature of eCopy ShareScan OP v4.x?

Session Logon allows users to authenticate to Windows Active Directory before choosing a connector to begin the scanning session at the MFP.  This is an SSOP v4.x specific feature that can now be utilized seamlessly by the LFConnector.

To enable Session Logon:

  1. Open the eCopy ShareScan OP Admin Console
  2. Expand the System Information node and click the Properties node
  3. Click the Session Logon tab
  4. Check the box labeled Enable Session Logon
  5. Verify that the settings listed are valid for your operating environment
  6. Click the Save button

Once you have enabled the Session Logon feature, the behavior of a LFConnector scanning session is as follows:

  1. On the login screen, type your Windows username/password
  2. Select the LFConnector
  3. Scan your document; click Next
  4. Depending on the credentials entered, the behavior is defined as follows:
    1. If the credentials entered have access rights to your Laserfiche repository, the LFConnector will not prompt you again for credentials, and the Destination form will appear.
    2. If the credentials entered do not have access rights to your Laserfiche repository, the LFConnector will prompt again for credentials, and the Authentication form will appear.

NOTE: In order to take advantage of Session Logon, you must have SSOP v4.x and one of the following LFConnector builds:

  • v1.0.2 (for Laserfiche v7.0)
  • v1.1.2 or v2.1.2 (for Laserfiche v7.1)
  • v1.2.2 or v2.2.2 (for Laserfiche v7.2)
