Can I force the LFConnector to use the same user credentials for all scan sessions?

Yes!  This feature is supported by using the Default Credentials feature of the LFConnector v2.x.  To enable Default Credentials:

  1. Open the eCopy ShareScan OP Admin Console
  2. Expand the Connectors node, then expand the LFConnector node and click the Properties node
  3. Select the desired configuration profile using the drop-down box at the top
  4. Click the Edit Settings button
  5. Click the Default Credentials tab
  6. Check the box labeled Use these credentials for all scan sessions
  7. Enter the desired default username/password
  8. If these credentials represent a Windows user, check the box labeled Use Windows authentication and enter the domain
  9. If you want these credentials to override those provided by eCopy's Session Logon, check the box labeled Override Session Logon (only applicable if Session Logon is enabled)
  10. Test the information provided by clicking the Test button

Once you have enabled the Default Credentials feature, the behavior of an LFConnector scanning session is as follows:

  1. If eCopy's Session Logon feature is enabled, type your Windows username/password; otherwise, continue
  2. Select the LFConnector
  3. Scan your document; click Next
  4. The credentials used to authenticate to Laserfiche are determined as follows:
    1. If Session Logon is enabled:
      1. If the checkbox Override Session Logon is checked in the LFConnector configuration, the credentials supplied in the Default Credentials tab are used
      2. If the checkbox Override Session Logon is not checked in the LFConnector configuration, the credentials supplied for Session Logon are used
    2. If Session Logon is disabled:
      1. The credentials supplied in the Default Credentials tab are used
  5. If the credentials have access rights to your Laserfiche repository, the LFConnector will not prompt you for credentials, and the Destination form will appear
  6. If these credentials fail, or if they do not have access rights to your Laserfiche repository, the Authentication form will appear
